Fully Funded Green Digital Action Plans for SMEs in North Wales through the Green Digital Academy

The GEP Environmental team is delighted to support the Green Digital Academy funded by the UK Government through UK Shared Prosperity Fund, offering expert evaluation and mentoring support to SMEs to improve their Digital and Net Zero Capabilities to align with their core business strategy. The programme aims to support businesses to accelerate efficiency, productivity, carbon reduction and reduce costs.

Who is eligible?

SMEs (Micro, Small and Medium) based in the following counties:

  • Conwy
  • Denbighshire
  • Flintshire
  • Anglesey
  • Gwynedd

What is included?

Following an assessment by a member of the GEP Environmental team, SMEs will receive a Green Digital Evaluation and Action Plan Report for their business. This report includes:

  • Baseline Carbon Information
  • Decarbonisation Roadmap
  • Carbon Action Plan
  • Digital Decarbonisation Action Plan

However, the support doesn’t stop there. Our team will provide three days of mentor support over a three-month period (or sooner) and will provide support to assess your Action Plan and make recommendations to undertake the activities identified.Your mentor will then work with you to help you identify funding and training to successfully engage with and use digital technology to reduce your carbon footprint, and support the delivery of the road map for your business.

What are the overall goals of the project?

The project is designed to do the following:

  • Boost productivity, pay, jobs and living standards in the area
  • Grow the private sector through evaluating, reviewing and mentoring SME’s journeys towards Net Zero and increasing Digital capability
  • Create opportunities for employment, sharing best practice in digital and net zero through collaboration and by undertaking growth-enhancing activities, through targeted support
  • Increase the number of SME’s with bespoke digital & decarbonisation action plans within a framework of wrap around and mentor support
  • Support SME’s to become more sustainable, more efficient through the availability of Capital Grants for Net Zero Infrastructure and Digital Solutions
