Climate change and net zero carbon services

Climate Change and Net Zero Carbon

The UK Government passed legislation in 2019 to eliminate its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions completely by 2050, based against 1990 levels. In the public sector this is being led by Councils with many aiming to be carbon neutral by 2030, with a Climate Emergency Crisis having been declared at regional and national level. As the first country to put these targets into law it has prompted all organisations to think how they can lower emissions. As experts in Climate Change and Net Zero Carbon strategies GEP Environmental have consulted with numerous clients to provide solutions to their challenge, and an approach as to how these actions will be implemented ensuring targets are achieved. GEP Environmental know the best way to tackle this challenge and use accurate and scientific technical methods to ensure success by utilising in-house knowledge, skills and technical expertise to produce innovative strategies that will drive radical decarbonisation across all operations.

According to the Science-Based Target Initiative, Science-Based Targets (SBTs) provide a ‘clearly-defined pathway for companies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, helping prevent the worst impacts of climate change and future-proof business growth. Targets are considered ‘science-based’ if they are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.’
