The Big Green Event

20th September 2016

Designed to demonstrate how a simple shift in mindset can improve your processes, considerably reduce your running costs – and your environmental impact, tackle difficult issues such as parking and attract the best staff. We will show you how to make those all important changes, no matter how big or small. Most of all, we will make sure you make the most of every moment of your learning experience at The Big Green Event 2016. Packed with INDUSTRY SUPPLIERS and EXPERTS.

GEP Environmental are proud to be supporting this event and will be providing three hour long workshops, details as follows:

How to implement an EMS and meet the new standards of ISO 14001:2015

Starting at 10:30am, and delivered by Peter Schofield, our qualified Practitioner of Environmental Management (PIEMA), this workshop aims to summarise the steps to implementing an Environmental Management System, and will explain in brief the key changes now included in the new Standard published in 2015. Suitable for anyone considering an EMS, and for those with an EMS already but keen to understand how the new 2015 Standard will affect them.

The energy efficient refurbishment of buildings and how the Minimum Energy Efficient Standards for rented property will affect you.

To start at 12:30pm, and delivered by our Director and Principle Engineer, Emma Hutchinson. This workshop will be vital for commercial landlords and tenants, and for anyone with responsibility for the upkeep, maintenance and refurbishment of a property. The Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards are new regulations coming into force in April 2018 and will prevent the sale or lease of any property that does not meet a level “E” Energy Performance Certificate. What does this mean in practical terms; how will it impact and change the market, and what can you do about it?

“It’s not easy being Green“ – but it really does make sense.

Starting at 2:30pm, Stephen Preece explores the “Green triangle” – balancing the demands and benefits of corporate social responsibility, with compliance, while keeping a firm eye on the costs. We believe that sustainable business practices in all areas lead to better financial results and that being “Green” really does pay.
