Does ESOS apply to your organisation?

Yes, if on the qualification date (31^st December 2018) you were a large undertaking that met either one or both of the conditions below:

• a UK company that either:

- employs 250 or more people, or

- has an annual turnover in excess of 50 million euro (£44,845,000), and an annual balance sheet total in excess of 43 million (£38,566,700)

• an overseas company with a UK registered establishment which has 250 or more UK employees (paying income tax in the UK

What are your compliance routes?

You may choose a single route or a combination of the routes listed below as long as all areas of significant energy consumption are covered.

Single routes for compliance:

• ESOS energy audit(s) undertaken, overseen and / or approved by an accredited Lead Assessor
• ISO 50001 certification which covers all areas of significant energy consumption

What is the timescale?

For larger or more complex companies, the ESOS compliance process can take up to 6 months.
