My background is in education – I’ve always had a passion for helping people to become the best versions of themselves, big or small! At my previous role, I was focused on helping adult learners get the skills they needed to progress at
their jobs, so stepping into a role as Training Coordinator for an environmental consultancy feels natural!
As Training Coordinator, I’m responsible for ensuring our courses create success for our learners – from streamlining the booking process and ensuring the training sessions themselves run smoothly to maximising environmental training impact for businesses and individuals after the course. I speak to all
clients at every stage of their journey, and I’m passionate about helping organisations and individuals improve their environmental knowledge to maximise results. Working in the environmental sector for the first time is fascinating – learning about all the regulations and the science behind them has been so
interesting, especially from a training perspective. As an Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) accredited training centre, it’s great to know that the courses we offer all adhere to strict environmental education standards, ensuring the best results.
What projects are you most excited to work on at GEP Environmental?
The best part of being Training Coordinator is no two days, projects or clients are the same – every business and individual has different needs, and one of my favourite parts of my job is speaking to clients and creating bespoke training solutions.
We see clients at every stage of their decarbonisation journey, and I have the privilege of working with many clients over the long term. Many delegates on our Introduction to Environmental Awareness courses go on to complete more advanced courses, such as Carbon Footprinting and Reporting and Pathways to Net Zero, and it’s fantastic to watch their environmental knowledge grow. I follow up with each client individually after courses, and there’s nothing better than seeing the tangible positive impacts a course can have on an organisation.
Many of our training clients go on to work with the wider team on consultancy projects as well, and knowing that a course could inspire an organisation to take the steps required to calculate their carbon footprint, become compliant with SECR and ESOS, track those Scope 3 Emissions or set a Science-Based Target is an incredible feeling.
Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us, Beth, and a big welcome from the GEP Environmental team!
